


Most of New Zealand's primary and secondary schools will arrange homestay family for students. To ensure the safety of students, host-families are registered with schools and arranged; in accordance with the Code of Practice for the Pastoral Care of International students. Living with homestay families may be suitable for younger or short term courses students.


Almost all private schools offer dormitory, meals and laundry services boarding to international students. The respective fees are not included in the school tuition fee.

University students can choose either on campus or off campus hostels. Rental will be depending on the types of hostels.

Students aged 18 or above can co-rent an apartment/house. The landlord usually asks for tenant to pay 1-month rent as deposit and 1-month rent in advance.
